Smartphones are amazing – well, most of them
I couldn’t live without my smartphone — well, I could, but I definitely couldn’t do business very well without it. I have full access to my docs, emails, accounting, contacts, turn-by-turn GPS navigation … I’ll stop, you know the drill, they do it all.
Still, once in awhile you need a real bonafide computer — err, let me rephrase that, once in awhile you need a full sized keyboard and screen. My phone is faster than my old laptop, so it definitely isn’t speed I’m missing.
Once in awhile a regular PC comes in handy, and as this article at LifeHacker points out, one great way to use your phone is with portable apps. That is, apps that you run directly from a USB stick or other portable media without having to install them on the PC. This is handy for if you’re at your friends house or a hotel business center.
But why carry a USB stick when you can just use your phone’s memory and mount it as a USB drive anyways?
Makes sense to me, and is something I didn’t even think of. One more reason smartphones are amazing … well, like I said, most of them.
